Product Description
The 1.8-liter gasoline engine Chevrolet F18D3 or LDA was introduced in 2006 as a replacement for the T18SED and is essentially a copy of the Opel Z18XE, unrelated to the F14D3 and F16D3 units. It was mainly used in Chevrolet Lacetti models and offered similar performance and fuel efficiency to its predecessor. Several components were updated, including the timing system, rollers, belt, pump, and ignition system, with the oil filter relocated and a single ignition module added.
The 1.8-liter gasoline engine Chevrolet F18D4 or 2H0 was produced from 2008 to 2016 and installed on Chevrolet Cruze. Technically, it mirrors the Opel Z18XER and represents an improved version of the F18D3 with a VVT system on both intake and exhaust, as well as variable intake runner length. The timing system remained belt-driven but with an increased service interval of 150,000 km. Hydraulic lifters were replaced by tappets requiring periodic adjustment every 100,000 km, and the engine does not use an EGR system.
