Product Description

The Cummins ISF 2.8, also known in the US market as Cummins R2.8, is a compact and lightweight 2.8-liter inline four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine designed for light commercial vehicles such as pickups, vans and small trucks. It features a cast iron block with replaceable liners and a cast iron cylinder head with four valves per cylinder, operated by a single chain-driven overhead camshaft through rocker arms, with intake and exhaust valves made from heat-resistant steel with chrome-plated stems. The maintenance-free timing chain is located on the flywheel side, while fuel delivery is managed by an electronically controlled common rail system powered by a high-pressure pump driven by the camshaft. The ISF 2.8 is equipped with a Holset HE200WG turbocharger without an intercooler, and for cold starts it uses an electric coil heater in the intake manifold, combining reliability, power and compactness for versatile commercial use.
