Product Description

The 1.5-liter Ford M8DA, M8MA, M9DA, and M9MA 1.5 EcoBoost engines were produced between 2014 and 2019 as successors to the previous 1.6-liter units. The M8DA powered the Focus and C-MAX, with the Mondeo version carrying the UNCA index. The M8MA was installed on the second-generation Kuga with a manual transmission, and on Galaxy and S-Max models under the UNCI index. The M9DA powered the third-generation Focus and C-Max, with a variant for the US market used on the Fusion under its own index. The M9MA replaced the 1.6-liter engine on the Kuga and was introduced to take advantage of tax benefits for engines below 1.5 liters in some markets.
