Product Description
The 2.0-liter Hyundai-Kia G4KH turbocharged engine, known as the 2.0 T-GDi, has been produced since 2010 and is used in various performance-oriented models such as the Sonata, Optima, Sorento, and Sportage. The first version of this engine, featured in the sixth-generation Sonata and third-generation Optima, has a compression ratio of 9.5:1 and produces 261–278 PS (192–204 kW; 257–274 hp) at 6,000 rpm with 37.2 kg⋅m (269 lb⋅ft; 365 N⋅m) of torque between 1,750 and 4,500 rpm.
Later, the engine was updated with several improvements, including a switch from hydraulic to electronic CVVT and the use of a smaller turbocharger to enhance fuel economy and throttle response. This revised version was used in the seventh-generation Sonata and fourth-generation Optima. It features a higher compression ratio of 10.0:1 and generates 245–248 PS (180–182 kW; 242–245 hp) at 6,000 rpm, along with 36 kg⋅m (260 lb⋅ft; 353 N⋅m) of torque available from 1,350 to 4,000 rpm.
Furthermore, a high-performance variant of this updated engine was developed with a larger turbocharger to increase output. This version is found in models like the i30 N and Veloster N, delivering 250–275 PS (184–202 kW; 247–271 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 36 kg⋅m (260 lb⋅ft; 353 N⋅m) of torque between 1,450 and 4,700 rpm. In even more powerful applications, such as the Kona N and Elantra N, the engine produces up to 280 PS (206 kW; 276 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 40 kg⋅m (289 lb⋅ft; 392 N⋅m) of torque between 2,100 and 4,700 rpm.

Car Engine Parts Diagram
Let us take a look at a detailed car engine parts diagram, which highlights the essential internal components of an engine. This type of diagram helps us visualize the exact location and arrangement of each part. It typically includes major elements such as the rocker cover, rocker arms, valve springs, cylinder head, spark plugs, valves, engine block, pistons, connecting rods, crankshaft, camshaft, timing chain, oil pump, oil pan, and flywheel. Also shown are related parts like the ignition distributor, fuel pump, gaskets, and distribution components. By referring to such a diagram, we can gain a better understanding of how these parts interact to power a vehicle's engine.
