Product Description
The 2.0-liter Hyundai G4GC engine, produced from 2000 to 2011 at Ulsan, belonged to the Beta II series and was used in models like the Sonata, Tucson, Kia Ceed, Cerato, and Soul, with a gas-fuel analogue designated L4GC. Debuting in the third-generation Elantra in 2000, it was updated in 2003 with an intake camshaft dephaser. Its design featured a cast-iron block, aluminum 16-valve head without hydraulic lifters, multiport fuel injection, and a combined timing system where the crankshaft drives the exhaust camshaft by belt and the intake camshaft by chain. It also employed a closed liquid cooling system with forced circulation and a pressure-and-splash lubrication system.
