Product Description

The 2.4-liter Hyundai-Kia G4KJ, or 2.4 GDi petrol engine, has been produced since 2009 and is installed in popular models such as the Optima, Sonata, Santa Fe, Sorento, and Sportage. This engine is notable for its Gasoline Direct Injection (GDi) system and the inclusion of a block of balancing shafts for smoother operation. Introduced with the sixth-generation Sonata in November 2009, the Theta II GDi version features a compression ratio of 11.3:1. Early variants produced 201–203 PS (148–149 kW; 198–200 hp) at 6,300 rpm and 25.5 kg⋅m (184 lb⋅ft; 250 N⋅m) of torque at 4,250 rpm, while later versions were rated at 188 PS (138 kW; 185 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 24.6 kg⋅m (178 lb⋅ft; 241 N⋅m) of torque at 4,000 rpm.
