The 2.0-liter Hyundai G4NG engine, also known as the Sonata 2.0 GDi Hybrid engine, was produced from 2015 to 2020 and used in the hybrid versions of the 7th-generation Sonata and 4th-generation Optima. This Nu-series hybrid setup pairs a 2.0L gasoline engine with an electric motor and a 1.76 kWh battery. The petrol engine delivers 156 PS (115 kW; 154 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 19.3 kg⋅m (140 lb⋅ft; 189 N⋅m) of torque at 5,000 rpm, while the electric motor adds 52 PS (38 kW; 51 hp) and 20.9 kg⋅m (151 lb⋅ft; 205 N⋅m) of torque, resulting in a combined output of 205 PS (151 kW; 202 hp).
