Product Description
The M272 E35 engine is a 3.5 L (3,498 cc) V6 from Mercedes, developed to replace the M112 E32 and M112 E37 engines. It features a bore and stroke of 92.9 mm × 86 mm, producing 272 PS (200 kW) at 6000 rpm and 350 N⋅m torque at 3500 rpm. In 2006, a direct-injected Stratified-Charged Gasoline Injection (CGI) variant debuted on the CLS350 CGI, increasing output to 292 PS (215 kW) and 365 N⋅m while improving fuel efficiency. By 2008, the non-CGI version was uprated to 316 PS (232 kW) at 6500 rpm with 360 N⋅m torque at 4900 rpm and 350 N⋅m available from 2000 rpm. This power increase was achieved by raising the rev limit to 7200 rpm, enhancing the compression ratio with optimized pistons, reinforced piston pins, improved valve seats, a single-stage intake manifold, lightweight sodium-cooled valves, conical valve springs, tri-oval chain sprocket, and a redesigned cylinder head. The M272 family also includes the E25 (2.5 L) and E30 (3.0 L) versions.

Car Engine Parts Diagram

Let us take a look at a detailed car engine parts diagram, which highlights the essential internal components of an engine. This type of diagram helps us visualize the exact location and arrangement of each part. It typically includes major elements such as the rocker cover, rocker arms, valve springs, cylinder head, spark plugs, valves, engine block, pistons, connecting rods, crankshaft, camshaft, timing chain, oil pump, oil pan, and flywheel. Also shown are related parts like the ignition distributor, fuel pump, gaskets, and distribution components. By referring to such a diagram, we can gain a better understanding of how these parts interact to power a vehicle's engine.
