The Mercedes M256 is a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder turbocharged engine produced since 2017, designed for high-end models such as the S-Class, GLS-Class, and AMG GT. It features a single turbocharger paired with an electric auxiliary compressor to eliminate turbo lag and enhance responsiveness.

There are several output variants of the M256 engine:

M256 E25 DEH LA GR: Between 230–270kW (313–367 PS) with 450 N·m of torque from 1600 to 4000 rpm

M256 E30 DEH LA GR: Delivers 270 kW (367 PS) and 500 N·m at 1600–4000 rpm

M256 E30 DEH LA G: Offers 320 kW (435 PS) and 520 N·m of torque at 1800–5500 rpm

These variants combine smooth performance with advanced hybrid assistance and are among Mercedes' most technologically advanced straight-six engines.
