Product Description

The 2.4-liter Mitsubishi 4B12 engine has been produced since 2006 at the company's Japanese plant and is found in popular models such as the Outlander, Lancer, and Delica. Developed under a joint alliance, it shares design similarities with the Chrysler ED3 and Hyundai's G4KC and G4KE engines. This inline 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve engine features MIVEC variable valve timing and a displacement of 2,360 cc. It has a bore of 88 mm (3.46 in), a stroke of 97 mm (3.82 in), and a compression ratio of 10.5:1 (increased to 11.8:1 on the Outlander PHEV). The engine uses an ECI-MULTI fuel system and delivers up to 125 kW (170 PS; 168 bhp) at 6,000 rpm, with torque ranging between 226–232 N⋅m (167–171 lb⋅ft) at 4,100 rpm depending on market and application.
