Product Description
The Mitsubishi 4G13 is a 1.3 L (1,298 cc) inline-four petrol engine from the Orion family, produced in Japan from 1985 to 2012 and later in China. It was fitted to models such as the Colt, Lancer, Mirage, Dingo, and Space Star, with Chinese production continuing for local cars.
Early versions were carbureted, featuring a cast-iron block, an aluminum 8-valve SOHC head without hydraulic lifters, a distributor, and a timing belt. Later updates included a 12-valve head, fuel injection, and eventually a 16-valve SOHC head with hydraulic lifters and ignition coils.
With a bore and stroke of 71 mm × 82 mm (2.80 in × 3.23 in), the 4G13 produced 75–85 PS (55–63 kW), while in some Gulf markets it was rated at 90 PS (66 kW) gross at 6000 rpm. Since 1998, it has also been manufactured in Harbin, China by Dongan Mitsubishi Motors Engine Manufacturing.
