Product Description

The Mitsubishi 6G74 is a 3.5-liter V6 from the Cyclone family, produced in Japan from 1992 to 2021 and also supplied to Hyundai as the G6CU. Developed from the 6G72, it earned a reputation for reliability, economy, and ease of maintenance. The engine features a cast-iron block with a 60° V-angle, aluminum 24-valve SOHC or DOHC heads with hydraulic lifters, and a timing belt. Early versions used multiport injection, while in 1997 a direct injection GDI version appeared, and a rare Pajero Evolution variant featured MIVEC. Output ranged widely: SOHC versions delivered 186–220 hp and 306–318 Nm, with a higher-performance Magna Ralliart version at 241 hp and 333 Nm. The MIVEC DOHC reached 280 hp and 324 Nm.
