Product Description

The 1.6-liter Mitsubishi 4G92 engine (1,597 cc) was produced from 1991 to 2006 for models such as the Lancer, Mirage, Colt, and Carisma. It was derived from the 4G91 with an enlarged 81 mm bore and offered in both fuel-efficient SOHC and sporty DOHC versions. The DOHC 16V variant produced 120 PS (88 kW; 118 hp), while the high-performance DOHC-MIVEC version introduced in 1993 reached up to 170 PS (125 kW; 168 hp), notably in the Mirage Cyborg-ZR and Lancer MR, ranking among the most powerful naturally aspirated 1.6-liter engines of its time. A Modular Displacement (MD) MIVEC version with cylinder deactivation was also produced to improve fuel economy.
