Product Description
The 1.8-liter Mitsubishi 4G93 engine (1,834 cc) was produced from 1991 to 2014 and widely used not only in Mitsubishi models but also in cars from Volvo, Proton, and Brilliance. It was available in SOHC, DOHC, carburetor, injector, direct injection, and turbocharged versions. In 1996, Mitsubishi introduced a GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) variant, which exceeded one million units in production. Although the early GDI was a heavy polluter and sold mainly in Japan, a cleaner, lower-powered version was later offered in Europe, making it one of the first modern GDI engines. The 4G93 was praised for fuel economy and durability when properly maintained.
