Product Description
The 1.5-liter Mitsubishi 4G15 engine was produced from 1985 to 2012 and later continued to be assembled in China, where it remains widely used on local models. Belonging to the Orion engine family, it debuted in the mid-80s on Mirage line vehicles. The unit features a cast-iron cylinder block, an aluminum head without hydraulic lifters, and a timing belt. Early versions were carbureted with a simple 8-valve SOHC head, followed by 12-valve variants equipped with ECI-MULTI multiport injection. Later versions adopted a 16-valve DOHC design, and post-2000 models gained MIVEC intake phase regulation and hydraulic lifters. There was also a GDI direct injection variant and a turbocharged 4G15T modification.
