Product Description
The Nissan 5.6-liter V8 engine family includes the VK56DE and VK56VD, both designed for the brand’s largest and most powerful models. The VK56DE was produced in the United States from 2003 to 2015, initially introduced as a 90° V8 with an aluminum block and cast-iron liners, dual DOHC heads without hydraulic lifters, multiport fuel injection, electronic throttle, and a timing chain. In 2007 it was upgraded with CVTCS intake cam phasers. This engine produced about 317–320 hp and 522–533 Nm of torque, featuring molybdenum-coated pistons, micro-finished camshafts, and ductile iron liners for durability. At the end of 2009, the VK56VD replaced it, manufactured in Yokohama since 2010 and lasting until 2024. The VK56VD retained the aluminum block and DOHC design but introduced direct injection, Nissan’s VVEL variable valve lift system, and CVTCS on the intake shafts, with sport sedan versions such as those in the Infiniti M56 and Q70 gaining CVTCS on all cams, higher compression from 10.8 to 11.5, and oil jets for piston cooling. This generation provided improved performance, fuel efficiency, and emissions control, making it the more advanced evolution of Nissan’s 5.6-liter V8.

Car Engine Parts Diagram

Let us take a look at a detailed car engine parts diagram, which highlights the essential internal components of an engine. This type of diagram helps us visualize the exact location and arrangement of each part. It typically includes major elements such as the rocker cover, rocker arms, valve springs, cylinder head, spark plugs, valves, engine block, pistons, connecting rods, crankshaft, camshaft, timing chain, oil pump, oil pan, and flywheel. Also shown are related parts like the ignition distributor, fuel pump, gaskets, and distribution components. By referring to such a diagram, we can gain a better understanding of how these parts interact to power a vehicle's engine.
