Product Description
The 1.6-liter turbocharged engine Peugeot EP6CDT or THP 16V 156 was launched in 2009 and widely used across the brand’s mainstream models. It came in three versions: 5FA with 125 hp, 5FN with 150 hp, and 5FV with 156 hp. This updated EP6DT engine retained its aluminum cylinder block with cast-iron liners, a 16-valve aluminum head with hydraulic lifters, and a timing chain drive. A TwinScroll BorgWarner K03 turbocharger with an intercooler provides boost, while a phase regulator is present only on the exhaust side.
Key improvements over its predecessor include new firmware, a modern catalyst meeting Euro 5 standards, an adjustable oil pump for pressure and flow, a new vacuum pump, an electromagnetic clutch on the water pump, and grooved crankshaft liners to reduce friction. The oil pressure sensor was also relocated from the head to the oil filter bracket. Power output is 125 hp (5FA), 150 hp (5FN), or 156 hp (5FV), with corresponding torque figures of 200 Nm, 240 Nm, and 240 Nm.
