Product Description
The 2.0-liter Toyota 8AR-FTS is a turbocharged direct-injected inline-four engine produced by Toyota Motor Corporation since 2014. Built in Japan, it belongs to the AR engine family and can operate in both Otto and modified Atkinson cycles thanks to VVT-iW phase shifters. The engine features a Twin Scroll turbocharger and the ESTEC D-4ST fuel injection system, which combines direct and port injection through twin injectors for optimal performance and efficiency. It debuted on the Lexus NX200t, where it produces 175 kW (235 hp) at 4,800–5,600 rpm and 350 N·m (258 lb·ft) of torque at 1,650–4,000 rpm. In other models such as the Lexus IS 200t, GS 200t and RC 200t, output is increased to 180 kW (242 hp) while maintaining the same torque. This engine is valued for its smooth power delivery, efficient combustion, and advanced thermal management.
