The half shaft is a transmission rod connecting the differential and drive wheels in an automobile transmission system, including front-wheel-drive half shafts with universal joints and rear axle half shafts. Its main function is to transmit power distributed by the differential to the wheels. Meanwhile, the universal joints accommodate changes in angle and length caused by wheel steering and suspension travel, and some rear axle half shafts also bear loads generated during wheel operation.
