Product Description
The 1.6-liter 16-valve Suzuki G16B gasoline engine was produced from 1990 to 2005 and installed on popular models such as the Suzuki Baleno, Suzuki Swift, Suzuki Vitara and Suzuki Grand Vitara. It was essentially a 16-valve modification of the G16A for global markets. The engine features an aluminum cylinder block with cast-iron liners, an aluminum 16-valve SOHC cylinder head with timing belt drive, and most commonly uses multi-point fuel injection, though carburetor and single-point versions also exist. Bore and stroke are 75.0 mm × 90.0 mm with a 9.5:1 compression ratio. Depending on the model, it can be mounted transversely or longitudinally, and valve clearance is adjusted by screw since most versions lack hydraulic lifters. Output ranges from 94 to 97 PS (69–71 kW) at 5,600 rpm and 132–140 N·m (97–103 lb·ft) at 4,000 rpm, making it a simple, reliable and widely used engine across various Suzuki vehicles.
